I found this blog called howaboutorange that had instructions on how to make a newspaper basket. It’s been a long time since I have done anything remotely crafty. After seeing this, I instantly decided I was going try to weave my own newspaper basket. I don’t exactly get a bunch of newspapers delivered to my house, just a small one that I believe only comes one day of the week. So, I attempted to make a smaller one and plan to eventually make a bigger one. This is my little pencil holder that I made from recycled newspapers and a popsicle stick. The lace I recycled from an old shirt of my daughters. Also, I could not find my stapler for the life of me so I used tape instead. Okay, so being my first time doing this it definitely is not perfect. One side has 4 rows and the other side only has 3.. whoops! Still it’s better than having no pencil holder. =)
